CupidLunch Privacy Policy

This draft was last updated for the CupidLunch pilot launch.

What we collect

Account basics from Clerk (name, email, and profile info if you sign in with Google or Facebook); your age, gender, state, and LGA; a selfie captured during identity verification, used as your in-app photo and analyzed on-device for liveness; your Stability Pillars answers (finance, communication, family) and lifestyle preferences; and your private matching preferences — which are never shown on your profile, only used to score compatibility.

Location

If you choose "Use my current location" during onboarding, we request your device's location once to suggest your state and LGA — it's used for that suggestion only, and you can always pick manually instead.

On-device processing

Your liveness check (face detection and blink verification) runs entirely on your device using on-device machine learning — the frames captured for that check are not uploaded to any third party for analysis.

How we use your data

To run the matching algorithm, verify your identity, coordinate lunch logistics, improve future matches based on your feedback after a date, and operate the pilot's admin tools for safety and support.

Who sees your private preferences

Never other members. Private matching preferences influence who you're matched with but are never displayed on your profile — only pilot administrators can view them, for support and moderation purposes.

Third parties we rely on

Clerk for authentication (including Google/Facebook sign-in, if you use them) and our own backend for storing your profile and match data. We don't sell your data.

Your choices

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting pilot support through the app.
